Following a rollover accident on December 14, 2025, that resulted in severe neck and back injuries, the Brent Oliver 541 Foundation advocated to help Tyler Hoffman gain access to specialized care at Craig Hospital. The foundation remains actively involved as Tyler prepares to return home. Current efforts include advising on accessibility needs, assisting with fundraising, and helping plan and construct improvements to the front patio, ramp, and unload area so Tyler has safe access into the home upon his return. Interior remodeling of the home is being completed by the family, with the foundation serving in an advisory and support role throughout the process.

The Brent Oliver 541 Foundation has expanded its mission to include national trails and outdoor access advocacy. As part of this effort, the foundation is evaluating a pilot project at Jubilee Lake in northeastern Oregon. The proposed pilot focuses on refurbishing the existing trail around the lake to improve accessibility for elderly individuals, people with mobility challenges, and the general public. The foundation is currently in discussion with local sponsors and advocates to help fund the project and move it forward. The U.S. Forest Service has agreed to allow testing related to this effort after Labor Day 2026. The foundation is optimistic about the potential for a strong, long term partnership focused on getting people where they need to be, outdoors, safely, and enjoying life.

The Brent Oliver 541 Foundation provided hands on labor, excavation equipment, and limited select materials to support the construction of a disabled accessible hunting blind in partnership with High Timber Dreams. The foundation’s role focused on site preparation and support to help complete the project and ensure safe outdoor access.

Noel Shannon lost her leg when the truck she was driving rolled over. Today, she walks with a prosthetic leg, but that hasn’t slowed her down one bit. As a dedicated mom of two, an active member of the Brent Oliver Foundation, and an outdoor enthusiast, Noel truly embodies the spirit of our mission. We are proud to consider her part of the Brent Oliver Foundation family.

David, the oldest son of one of our local families, suffered a severe spinal cord injury during a trampoline accident. While attempting a flip, David landed on his neck and fractured his C6 vertebrae. He was immediately life-flighted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he began the critical early stages of care.

Jamison is a bright, young man from Canada, known for his unstoppable spirit and ever-present smile. Despite the challenges he faces, Jamison is a fighter – he pushes through with determination and heart. His courage inspires everyone around him, making him the perfect candidate for The Brent Oliver 541 Foundation, which exists to support individuals who never give up no matter what life throws their way. 

In December, the Foundation had the honor of delivering a life-changing gift to Jamison: a customized mobility chair. It wasn’t just a donation, it was a deeply personal mission. Brent, the founder of the Foundation, lost his own son as an infant – a heartbreak that changed his life forever. Being able to give another young man the chance to move freely and experience life more fully, especially during the Christmas season, brought meaning to the journey. So Brent loaded up the chair and made the long drive to British Columbia, Where Jamison and his family flew in to meet him for the unforgettable giveaway.

With the generous funding from The Wildhorse Foundation, The Brent Oliver 541 Foundation was honored to award a state-of-the-art tracked wheelchair to a truly deserving recipient; Darrin Umbarger, of Pendleton, Oregon. This giveaway was especially meaningful, as Darrin was nominated multiple times by members of his community – speaking volumes about the impact he has made in the lives of others. 

Darrin and his family run the Clearview Disability Resource Center in Pendleton, where they provide critical resources, advocacy, and support for individuals living with disabilities throughout Eastern Oregon. Beyond his professional work, Darrin is an avid outdoorsman with a passion for fishing and enjoying the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. This all-terrain wheelchair will give Darrin the freedom to more fully experience the outdoors he loves – without limitations of terrain or accessibility!

To help Darrin continue pursuing his outdoor passions, The Brent Oliver Foundation partnered with High Timber Dreams to also gift him an outdoor adventure. This incredible outdoor experience was made possible by the generosity of Ryan and Dehanna – of High Timber Dreams – who open their home and hearts to guide each hunter personally. Their dedication is a true testament to the power of community, and  compassion. This special opportunity gives Darrin the chance to take full advantage of his new mobility in the great outdoors, reconnecting with the wild places he loves most.
